Restoring trust in yourself
I am an Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapist committed to helping adults process the impacts of childhood trauma and restore confidence in themselves. The IFS approach is based on the idea that every person already has the internal resources to heal. My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate and culturally humble.
My work focuses on guiding clients to get curious about the different aspects of their internal experience. As human beings, our internal world is comprised of multiple "parts." Parts is an umbrella term that describes emotions, behaviors, thoughts, beliefs, and physical sensations. Especially after abuse or neglect, there are internal "parts" that work to protect humans from remembering or re-experiencing painful emotions. Slowly I guide clients to build trust with protectors and eventually, with permission from protectors, to bear witness to the original wounding experiences. It is through this process that clients can let go of burdens or core negative beliefs.
I am especially dedicated to supporting new parents who want to interrupt cycles of intergenerational trauma. My hope is to support parents to lead their families with more curiosity, compassion, playfulness and confidence. I invite you to contact me today to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation.
